x200 windows7 fingerprint

Finally it works!!!

prolog:
With new year spirit I got challenge to test out windows 7 ultimate and I am using lenovo thinkpad x200 with built-in fingerprint.

Everything seems find EXCEPT fingerprint seems unable to be enroled. I tried to download and use “official” drivers (from fingerprint sensor author, lenovo and even othet computer brand’s drivers) with no luck. Then I saw some article and try to summarize and got struck by luck.

and yaaay it worked.

workaround:
uninstall all fingerprint software and driver but DO NOT RESTART! once again do not restart even after you uninstall the driver from device manager.

after make sure that all software and driver for fingerprint device is removed, DO SHUTDOWN!!! (NOT RESTART!!!).

Now pray to get lucky!

Start the laptop again, wait until bubble message in right-down side shows something like “Instalation of driver software is successful”….

Go to control panel and saw biometric device… click that and saw manage device… click that and suddenly there’s a new window with TWO BIG HANDS asking for enrolment… asking for windows password… enrole fingerprint… close the window… log off… then try to swipe it… and yeeaaaay it worked!!!

Another day in a year 2010 of sun-rotation-based calendar.

Will it be better than previous years? Another jobs need to be done another sequel need to be done with very well expectation and a lot to be done.

When the going gets tough

Hope the title said it all.

Another rainy days in Jakarta. Still waiting for another meeting and my phone is already showing battery warning.

Just remember a quote that my friend used to say, more or less goes like this “… rainbow appears after every storm, but what if my storms caused by those rainbows…”

I am lucky to be accompanied by a good wife, better halves and my best friend, complete package in a body and soul. Also am lucky to have a mother that always care and understand me. Amazing sister and adorable daughters. Confirmation on a male dominated world still always need a women’s touch.

Thank you all for becoming my rainbows and always be there during each and every storm.

It has been a long time I did not read something that enlighten awareness, until one of my colleague email forward a nice statistic from 10,000 users of a free-account-web-based-email provider information revealed as follows:

• the longest password was 30 characters
• most of the passwords are between 6 and 9 characters long.
• Average password length is 8 characters.
• a big majority of users still use very poor passwords: 42 % (lower alpha only) and 19 % (numeric only), while only 6 % from all the passwords had passwords which use a selection of alpha numeric and other characters

It tickles me and realize that my password on average is using 9 characters with alphabet-numeric-special character combinations.

Is it because the rain, that make this morning is so cloudy, or is it because I still awake more than 24 hours because of bloody proposal.

Or just because I feel I got blamed by a shittyhappened caused by some ignorant people. This is one of those days when I do not have intention to do anything, yet so many things need to be done. Sometimes you only need to be accompanied by someone. Keep silent for hours just sipping coffee and burning cigarrete.

mobile blogging

It’s been a while since my last writing, and a lot has change.

Most of people I know already join microblog fever, tweet, plurk and event they use facebook and linkedin to do that.

Call me conservative or anything, me myself still prefer this kind of writing. Dont need to report what I’m eating or where was I at.

Silly thing I think my main blog is dissapearing. Will need to settle that or never. In the mean time this site will be my official blog site until further notice. I will mention this in any social network site where I joined.

I tell you mate, mobile blogging (especially with iPhone) might be my new sparetime activity. Yup I’m that “special”.

Last weekend, me and my big brother trying to deploy internet connection using various gsm and cdma provider. After long research and tweaking, calling all customer service that we can grab, finally we get some (provider that is not listed here, is not because they don’t exist, but we already decided to get a break).
